We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our team here at Harrods. As the Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building, testing and implementing data infrastructure and pipelines that collect, centralize, and curate data from multiple internal and external data sources. You may be required to be part of an on-call rota for out of hours assistance including weekends.
About the Role
The Data Engineer will be responsible for:
- Building, testing and implementing data infrastructure and pipelines that collect, centralize, and curate data from multiple internal and external data sources.
- Performing data analysis required to troubleshoot data-related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues.
- Implementing strategies directed at acquiring data and promoting the development of new insights across the business.
- Monitoring existing metrics, analysing data, and leading partnerships with teams to identify and implement system and process improvements.
- Administering, monitoring, troubleshooting, analysing and resolving technical problems arising from technical development.
About You
You will have experience in:
- Database management, software engineering, deployment of machine learning models, and coordinating data access, preparation and feature engineering.
- Using Python and PySpark to build data pipelines (preferably using Python and PySpark).
- Databricks and using Git and CI/CD.
- Integrating Fabric with Azure services (e.g., ADLS, Synapse, Power BI).
- Building and managing Fabric Dataflows and Data Pipelines for ingestion and transformation.
- Using DBT (Data Build Tool) for data modelling and transformation, integrated with Fabric environments.
