About the Role

As an Assistant Buyer, you will support the full Buying Cycle - working closely with the Buyer to drive product development, manage critical paths, monitor trade performance and ensure suppliers deliver to the highest standards. You’ll thrive in a fast moving environment, balancing organisation, creativity, and commercial thinking to help grow a premium own label collection.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting weekly trade activity by analysing sales reports, identifying opportunities, and proposing next step actions.
  • Managing the critical path at every stage—from briefing through to launch—ensuring deadlines, samples, and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Preparing and maintaining key documents including design packs, costing files, planograms, line ups, and sample trackers with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Coordinating supplier communication, including weekly calls, sample feedback, and follow ups, ensuring a high level of professionalism and timely responses.
  • Contributing to product strategy by completing competitor reviews, attending comp shops, tracking market trends, and proposing new category or product ideas.

Depending on your role, you may be fully on-site or have a mix of on-site and home working – this is what we refer to as ‘Hybrid’. Our hybrid working policy allows colleagues to work from home for part of the week, with a minimum of three days on-site, depending on business needs.

About You

You will be organised, proactive, and commercially aware—someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys balancing creativity with process. You’ll bring a premium taste level, strong communication skills, and the ability to build influential relationships with both internal teams and suppliers. You work at pace, manage multiple deadlines with ease, and take pride in delivering accuracy and excellence at every stage. Most importantly, you are a collaborative team player with the resilience and tenacity needed to keep projects moving and results on track.

You will have:

  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint (Illustrator and SAP beneficial).
  • Excellent organisation, communication, and time management abilities.
  • A detail driven, solutions focused approach with a strong work ethic and commitment to high standards.
