Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Spray line Operative to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess time served knowledge and have hands-on experience with powder application, finish and thickness monitoring, and process adjustment. This role is essential in ensuring that our projects are executed to the highest standards, contributing to the overall success of our operations.

Duties

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the Spray-line team and processes, enforcing team quality checks
  • Manage stock control on a daily basis, carry out random stock checks and stock rotation
  • Take responsibility for the team and support their development with on-the-job training and coaching as required
  • Ensure all training is recorded on appropriate training forms and saved in central folders (including certificates)
  • Awareness, understanding and responsibility for department Health & Safety issues, ensuring adherence to the Health & Safety policy at all times
  • Ensure the team are working effectively/efficiently on a continuous basis
  • Manage 5s projects/improvement meetings/activities - continually reviewing and improving processes
  • Take responsibility for own training and motivated to attend any relevant training to keep skills/knowledge up-to-date
  • Participate in target setting through briefing sessions
  • Ensure agreed targets and deadlines are understood and implemented
  • Understand and interpret all relevant information during meetings/conversations to ensure departmental/company objectives are achieved

Experience

  • Proven knowledge with practical application in a similar role. (3 years minimum)
  • Proficiency in using similar machines and powder coating equipment
  • Experience with reading basic drawings
  • Basic maths skills are necessary for accurate measurements and calculations
  • Good level of concentration for work in progress, working cleanly to avoid contamination materials, following strict safety regulations covering the use of potential hazardous materials when appropriate
