Overview

Harrison Spinks is a fifth-generation family bedmaker, handcrafting premium luxury mattresses since 1840 and is one of Great Britain’s most established, innovative and sustainable bed manufacturers. All beds are handmade to order and tailored to each individual customer. Our skilled craftsman and women use traditional bed making techniques to hand sew, side-stitch and tuft every mattress, resulting in beautiful beds that are of the highest quality. We are seeking a Goods In Operative to work within the Goods In and Kanban Departments, Leeds. The Goods In Operative will be responsible for stock control duties within Goods In and the Kanban area.

Hours: Monday – Thursday, 6am – 4pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Support with deliveries, checking against delivery notes, reporting and pro-actively following up on any anomalies
  • Ensure stock is correct, neat and clearly labelled
  • Take corrective actions for stock anomalies
  • Booking stock in using AX and D365
  • Undertake daily stock checks, collecting data, reporting and investigating any variances
  • Manage the Kanban area, using the highest standard of 5s stock management and housekeeping
  • Submit requisitions for the Kanban area inline with demand (ordering enough to prevent waiting times and overstocking)
  • Conduct intermittent quality inspections of incoming goods
  • Report no-stock and shortages, ensuring production have sufficient stock
  • Year-end stock takes
  • Monitor inter-co stock outs
  • Investigate, report and identify countermeasures
  • Liaise with suppliers and relevant departments

  • Knowledge and experience of using MRP systems
  • Stock control experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Understanding of problem solving techniques
  • FLT licence desirable
