Job Summary
We are seeking a Goods In Operative to work within the Goods In and Kanban Departments in Leeds. The role will be responsible for stock control duties within Goods In and the Kanban area, ensuring accurate stock management and high standards of 5S and housekeeping.
Key Responsibilities
- Support deliveries, check against delivery notes, report and follow up on any anomalies.
- Ensure all stock is 100% checked on arrival against delivery notes and report anomalies with proactive follow‑up.
- Take corrective actions for stock anomalies.
- Complete daily stock checks, collect data and investigate and report variances.
- Maintain high standards of 5S stock management and housekeeping through sophisticated Kanban methods.
- Prepare spring pad and natural fillings requisitions.
- Collect data and order stock line with demand and sales forecast.
- Attend and participate in year‑end stock takes.
- Conduct intermittent quality inspections of incoming goods.
- Monitor inter‑co stock outs, investigate, report and identify countermeasures.
- Maintain cage and stillage, ensuring wheels are swarf‑free and faults reported immediately.
- Submit requisitions for the Kanban area in line with demand, ordering enough to prevent waiting times and overstocking.
- Report no‑stock and shortages, ensuring production has sufficient stock.
- Investigate, report, and identify countermeasures.
- Liaise with suppliers and relevant departments.
Key Skills & Experience
- Hands‑on, hard‑working individual with a proactive attitude to daily activities, improvements, changes and problem solving.
- Proficient using computer programmes such as Outlook and Excel.
- Experience using an MRP system such as AX and D365.
- Analytical with a good understanding of data and reporting tools.
- Stock control experience.
- Good communication skills.
- Understanding of problem‑solving techniques.
- FLT licence desirable.
