ROLE SUMMARY
The successful Candidate will be accountable for all technical aspects of company products & their manufacture. The main areas being ensuring consistency of product quality; addressing and managing product improvements; addressing customer's quality issues; provision of technical advice; and development of products.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management of the technical department activities and the 2 quality control staff.
- To provide technical advice.
- Accountable for applying technical skills to ensure product quality meets customer expectations and our specifications consistently.
- Raising, maintaining & issuing purchase specifications for raw materials.
- Raising and maintaining technical specifications and the administration of these documents.
- Creation and maintenance of production control documents for coating processes.
- Involvement in the design of new products within the company.
- Raising and overseeing trial production runs and reporting the outcomes.
- Providing technical support to the sales department.
- Accountable for maintaining and improving process controls that safeguard product quality.
- Reducing quality failures from the technical perspective.
- Assisting in controlling and reducing waste.
- Dealing with the technical aspects of customer complaints – i.e. investigating the validity of complaints; liaising with customers and internal departments; raising and progressing corrective actions; written reports suitable for both internal and external use.
