Our long established client is an SME that has grown to become a recognised leader in Paper Handling Solutions for Digitally Printed Sheets due to their continued focus on new product development. Through innovative high-performing products, they have remained ahead of competitors and are the supplier of choice in the International Digital Web Printing market which they serve. Their proven systems attract not only new customers but also repeat orders from many loyal customers.

They sell either directly to end users or via sales agents, which include major internationally recognised vendors, specialising in providing unique customised solutions with value-added product features. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join their forward-thinking team.

The role will involve building relationships with customers and distributors around the world. The successful candidate will identify customers’ finishing needs and translate these into detailed quotations.

The Technical Sales Manager role includes:

  • Working on sales projects from initial prospect identification through to securing the purchase order.
  • Creating order confirmations and purchasing third-party equipment.
  • Handing over to the customer support team.
  • Providing distributor sales support.
  • Maintaining product price lists.
  • Keeping the company website updated.
  • Preparing news bulletins.
  • Managing attendance at international exhibitions.
  • All other aspects of the Sales and Marketing function.

A practical interest in how high-speed processing machinery, ideally paper handling equipment, is designed and functions, coupled with some hands-on engineering ability, is essential. These technical skills are needed in combination with commercial acumen.

Some experience of marketing and selling high-value capital equipment is required. The successful candidate will be a good communicator through telephone, email messaging, face-to-face contact, and/or PowerPoint presentations. They should be able to quickly gain a good understanding of products and communicate details confidently and clearly with customers around the world. Additionally, they will be able to create detailed and accurate sales proposals for complex systems customised for specific end-user applications.
