Our client is undergoing a significant rise in sales of Paper Packaging and therefore requires a skilled and experienced Production Operator to carry out various tasks in their expanding production area.

The ideal candidate will have some mechanical experience, excellent communication skills and a high degree of mechanical aptitude.

The role will be responsible for operating production line equipment, finishing products and reporting any issues with equipment directly to supervisors.

They will consider candidates both with Paper Bag Machinery experience, and those from a Flexo Print background – Narrow or Wide Web – who are willing to be trained up in their Triumph 3 MR Block bottom bag machinery which includes a 4 colour flexo inline printing station.

Currently shifts are over 5 days / 24 hours – with a requirement to be flexible with working hours/shifts that will eventually roll out to a 7 day operation as sales increase within Paper Packaging.

Role Reporting to: Production Manager

  • Responsibilities and duties minimum requirements:
  • Control and adjust machines.
  • Feed paper rolls and beware of gluing systems.
  • Fix minor issues that might occurring during shift.
  • Check produced bags to spot any machine related mistakes.
  • Technical qualification and attention on safety standards.
  • Maintain work areas and equipment
  • Desired skills:

  • Experience in SOS paper bag making machine with Flat handle – or equivalent
  • Flat and satchel bag making machines with online printing – or equivalent
  • Roll to Roll Flexo printing machine – or equivalent
  • Required Skills:

  • GCSEs or equivalent required
  • Strong work ethic and organisational skills
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced warehouse environment
  • Able to work on foot for extended periods of time
  • Experience working in a production environment
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results as needed
  • Follow Health & Safety rules and Procedures at all times
