Our client is experiencing growth in sales of Paper Packaging and is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Production Technician to carry out various tasks in their expanding production area.

The ideal candidate will have some mechanical experience, excellent communication skills, and a high degree of mechanical aptitude.

The successful applicant will be responsible for operating production line equipment, finishing products, and reporting any issues with equipment directly to supervisors.

They will consider candidates both with Paper Bag Machinery experience and those from a Flexo Print background – Narrow or Wide Web – who are willing to be trained on their Triumph 3 MR Block bottom bag machinery, which includes a 4-colour flexo inline printing station.

Role Reporting to: Production Manager

Responsibilities and minimum requirements:

  • Control and adjust machines.
  • Feed paper rolls and monitor gluing systems.
  • Fix minor issues occurring during shift.
  • Check produced bags for machine-related mistakes.
  • Maintain technical standards and safety compliance.
  • Maintain work areas and equipment.

Desired skills:

  • Experience with SOS paper bag making machines with Flat handle or equivalent.
  • Experience with flat and satchel bag making machines with online printing or equivalent.
  • Experience with Roll to Roll Flexo printing machines or equivalent.

Required Skills:

  • GCSEs or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work on foot for extended periods.
  • Experience working in a production environment.
  • Contribute to team efforts to achieve results.
  • Follow health and safety rules and procedures at all times.
