We are seeking a hard working individual to lead the operational management of a long established print company. As General Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, execution and the management of the company’s entire operational process.
The ideal candidate will have gained their experience in a fast moving print environment and will have an excellent track record in the successful delivery of time critical campaigns. This role will suit a Managing Director of a small company, or a production / operations manager who has overseen a team of between 10-20 staff.
Key responsibilities:
- Liaise with other Heads of Departments whenever necessary to ensure that all departments are working to their maximum efficiency, setting KPIs and measurement of them.
- Manage employee Human Resource and take responsibility for their actions and ensure that all matters are dealt with according to our client’s Guidelines.
- Manage the development of your teams’ skills, training and continuous improvement as part of their personal development plan and implement appropriate training of staff on or off site to ensure that the highest degree of skill and safety within the company.
- Manage budgets as allocated to ensure maximum use of those budgets and to ensure savings are made through efficiency and negotiation.
- Ensure that all software and machines have maintenance contracts where required and that all equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standards to ensure the highest efficiency of work output.
- Manage and improve a quality of service and standard continually by using systems in place and adding wherever necessary amendments to prevent errors as part of a process of continuous improvements within any frameworks set out by the company.
- Ensure all Health & Safety (H&S) guidelines are implemented, that H&S is treated as a critical element and focus for you and your team, that issues arising / reported are acted upon and resolved and that all staff are aware of their responsibilities in connection with H&S.
- Ensure that sales and marketing activity results the business in meeting agreed income targets each month.
- Oversee and report on the financial health, cash flow, debtors and creditors to the Directors ensuring that the business is profitable and meeting agreed budgets.
- Oversee the management of customer’s work from receipt of artwork and instruction from Client services to the delivery of goods through to production finishing to the highest level of quality and due attention.
- Liaise with all Departments to meet with mutually agreed times and requirements for client schedules.
- Follow instructions as supplied to ensure a job is completed correctly and to the agreed schedules required of the job.
- Ensure all administrative work is to the highest standard. To act as the first point of contact with all suppliers of equipment, supplies, stock and maintenance related to the business. To have regular and recorded review meetings with these suppliers and to seek improvements from them in terms of efficiency and quality.
