Key Responsibilities
- Health & Safety Leadership
- Champion a safety culture, ensuring the company is a leader in workplace health & safety.
- Develop and execute H&S strategy, aligning with company Vision, Objectives, Goals, Strategy and Measures and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure robust management of fire safety, site security, contractor controls, noise assessments, and staff training.
- Lead safety initiatives, from risk assessments, procedures and audits to near-miss reporting and best-practice collaborative sharing.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 45001, ensuring seamless and successful external audits and continuous improvement.
- Drive safety investments, identifying opportunities for Capex projects that enhance employee and workplace safety.
- Manage contractor safety, permits, and critical monitoring (air quality, noise, Legionella, etc.).
- Quality Excellence
- Manage and evolve ISO 9001 Quality Management System, adopting best practice from the industry and sector.
- Lead supplier & product quality performance, monitoring KPIs, undertaking annual supplier surveys and driving corrective actions.
- Handle quality near misses and supplier/customer complaints by carrying out failure mode analysis work and subsequent implementation of new systems where necessary.
- Foster a "Right First Time" (RFT) mindset across production, reducing waste and improving efficiency.
- Conduct internal & supplier audits, ensuring compliance and identifying areas for enhancement.
- Environmental & Sustainability Innovation
- Secure and maintain ISO 14001 certification and drive key sustainability initiatives that set our client apart from the competition.
- Develop and evolve the company's Sustainability Plan, exploring green initiatives such as LED lighting, solar energy, and waste reduction.
- Stay ahead of emerging regulations.
- Strategic Business Impact
- Play an active part in the Management Team, contributing to key decisions that drive the business forward.
- Analyse data & trends, providing insights to improve operational and QHSE performance.
- Engage with customers and suppliers, ensuring compliance while strengthening relationships.
Who We are Looking For?
- A proactive leader with strong knowledge of UK H&S regulations along with Environmental and Quality management systems.
- Experienced in ISO management systems (9001, 14001, 45001) and driving continuous business improvement.
- A methodical thinker who can balance compliance with business growth.
- An excellent communicator, able to influence at all levels—from manufacturing operations to the management team.
- Passionate about sustainability and finding smarter, greener ways to manufacture high quality products for a broad customer base.
- Experience or interest in regulatory compliance would be highly valued and could allow the scope of the role to expand in that direction.
