We have an opportunity for a Packaging Design Engineer to join a company that is well known in the industry for its innovative design of cosmetic packaging. We are looking for a talented problem solver, passionate about cosmetic structural packaging.
Role Responsibilities:
- Supporting the engineering team with technical development & evaluation of structural packaging for the cosmetic and skincare industry.
- Working within a team of expert Packaging Designers & Product Design Engineers.
- Measuring and testing of moulded samples during tool qualification process.
- Familiar with First Article Inspection Reports.
- Practical workshop, testing and evaluation skills.
- Providing technical support for project managers.
- Providing concise, clear technical correspondence with manufacturing facilities and clients.
- Reporting skills, describing objectives, analysing data, and drawing appropriate conclusions.
- Creating TDs with BOM for RFQs.
- Working to tight deadlines.
- 3D CAD modelling & drafting skills preferably Solidworks.
Required skills:
- Degree in Product Design Engineering or equivalent.
- Previous experience in beauty/cosmetics or similar luxury/FMCG markets is desirable but alternative similar industry experience will be suitable for this role.
- SolidWorks experience including non-linear surface modelling and other complex plastic part creation, drafting experience with GD&T knowledge.
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with plastic injection moulding, blow moulding and other mass manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with different decoration techniques.
- Familiarity with measurement systems, assembly tolerance stack-up, tooling qualification procedures, and AQL Inspection procedures in mass manufacturing.
