Our client is a well-established print, fulfilment and mailing services provider seeking an experienced Mailing Services Manager to join their growing operation. This is a specialist role for someone with a strong background in direct mail, mailing house operations, postal services and campaign fulfilment. The successful candidate will act as the internal expert on all aspects of UK and international mailing, ensuring campaigns are planned, produced and dispatched efficiently, compliantly and cost-effectively.
The position would suit an individual who has worked within a mailing house, direct mail production environment, print and fulfilment business, postal services provider, or similar operation where hands-on knowledge of mailing processes is essential.
The Role
You will work closely with production, estimating, data and fulfilment teams to support the successful delivery of direct mail campaigns from initial planning through to final dispatch. The role will involve advising on postal strategy, ensuring compliance with mailing regulations, managing relationships with postal providers and helping to identify the most effective mailing solutions for each project. You will also play an important role in developing internal procedures, improving efficiencies and acting as the subject matter expert for mailing operations across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and coordinating direct mail campaigns for UK and international distribution
- Advising on the most suitable postal routes, services and delivery options
- Managing relationships with Royal Mail, DSA providers and other postal partners
- Reviewing campaign specifications and identifying potential mailing or compliance issues at an early stage
- Ensuring all mailing documentation, paperwork and submission requirements are completed accurately
- Advising internal teams on postal formats, weight restrictions, machineability and postage optimisation
- Supporting estimating and production teams with postal costing and mailing recommendations
- Coordinating with data processing and fulfilment teams to ensure campaigns are prepared correctly for dispatch
- Monitoring postal regulations and industry developments to ensure continued compliance and best practice
- Assisting with process improvement initiatives across mailing and fulfilment operations
Experience Required
- Good knowledge of Royal Mail and DSA services
- Experience with Deutsche Post or international mailing would be highly valuable
- Understanding of postal formats, weights, sortation, paperwork and mailing compliance
- Ability to advise on the best postal routes and spot potential mailing issues early
- Strong attention to detail and good commercial awareness
