The start of the year 2015 will certainly be a good one for whoever secures this position. Not ideal for someone who is used to running large teams but spot on for someone who has run a small business or been a general manager of the smaller unit of a larger company. The key words with this vacancy are "hands on". The company has circa 15 staff but makes more profit than many companies employing 100 staff plus.
Responsibilities
- Management responsibility for all operational, budgetary and business matters at the unit.
- To ensure that revenue and profitability targets set in the budget are met.
- To work with all staff and other colleagues to ensure that all business and operational costs are kept under control and that the unit receives the most economically advantageous prices from all its suppliers.
- To support and motivate staff in order to achieve maximum output and profit whilst exceeding clients' expectations with regard to quality and service and to ensure that formal quality processes and procedures are followed and reported.
- To ensure that staff are remunerated, targeted and incentivised as appropriate.
- To ensure that all management systems are operated effectively and that data is entered correctly and within specified timescales.
- To ensure that all work undertaken is produced within agreed timescales and that all SLAs and contractual obligations with specific clients are met in full.
- To ensure that sufficient staff resources are in place to operate effectively.
- To promote our client's work ethic.
- To facilitate excellent communications in all directions.
- To collect MIS, refine as appropriate and report as required to the Directors or Senior Management Team.
- To deal with day-to-day personnel.
- To maximise opportunities for growth.
- To take responsibility for the Health & Safety of all staff on site.
- To complete and maintain all necessary Risk Assessment documents in a manner which is acceptable to the assessment authorities.
- To be responsible for keeping up-to-date with all company policies, following all procedures specified in the company's Quality, Environmental, Information Security and Occupational Health & Safety Management systems.
- Any other tasks deemed appropriate to the successful operation of the print and finishing facility.
