Following the implementation of a new MIS software system within its operations department, a specialist print company that has experienced many years of continuous success has an opening for a planning controller. This is an unmissable opportunity to join a company with extremely strong financial credentials.
This role of Planning Controller is heavily reliant on a computer literate individual with a keen eye and a high level of attention to detail along with good English, Maths and Communication skills. The key to this role is being able to plan each job and interpret written information accurately and in line with the customer proposed due date and build this detail into a dynamic plan. This will take the job from conception through each different Production department to completion and require an individual departmental plan. In brief, you will be creating a theoretical master plan taking into account the materials, the people and the machines in each department as the job flows through from start to finish ensuring a balanced capacity plan. It is very important that this role builds the overall and the individual departmental plans that are realistic and achievable. This will take into account any changes so they can be incorporated into the MIS system to ensure the business achieves its internal KPI target.
Responsible for:
- Creation of the business plan using the Imprint system software
- Populate the MIS system with all the information needed to take a customer job from conception to completion.
- Receive the individual job detail and input this into the MIS system and different departmental plans.
- Review the Production Board customer job status from artwork date to job finish and despatch date.
- Input of the individual job data into the relevant software module of new orders after sales approval and contract review complete.
- Ensure Pattern / Print materials and sundry items are available to produce the job.
- Update weekly schedule.
- Update daily schedule and production status reports for morning meeting.
- Maintain the system and the accuracy of the Production Board System.
- Take into account daily Alterations to Order to maintain system accuracy.
- Information from Warehouse to sales, Preparation to sales and vice versa.
- Helping Warehouse with any issues regarding material / print queries.
- Changing as necessary the detail on the Imprint system.
- Daily / weekly production Information.
- Ensure the system gives real time status of the different customer orders.
- Produce daily Management Information Status reports for meetings as required.
- Compile forward order weekly schedules.
Experience using Imprint MIS software will be distinctly advantageous.
