Our Client specialises in the manufacture of inks and is seeking a technician willing to learn and develop the skills required to eventually run a busy ink department.
Hours: Monday‑Friday 7am‑4pm, 40 hours per week, with voluntary overtime available for holiday cover and during high production periods.
Qualifications:- Good colour vision.
- Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office – and ability to be trained to use ink formulation software.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Previous experience working with printing inks – or similar products such as paints is beneficial, as is experience working with ink dispensing systems – but not essential with on‑the‑job training provided.
- Providing a consistent, timely ink dispensing service in line with the daily production plan.
- Ink formulating and colour matching using spectrophotometer and proofing equipment.
- Ensuring all operating and health and safety procedures are adhered to, reporting any safety incidents to management.
- Carrying out any necessary colour corrections on press.
- Maintain stock control of all inks, varnishes and cleaning products, by doing routine stock counts, and ordering products when required.
- Ensure absolute departmental cleanliness as well as inspecting and cleaning the dispensing and ancillary equipment daily, reporting any faults.
- Control and organise the safe removal of all the empty waste tubs and ink.
- Supporting production ink trials and press passes.
