Amongst other pressroom products, our renowned Client specialises in the manufacture and supply of printing and packaging inks.
The successful candidate will be based with their prestigious Customer, a high quality, multi sited packaging company at their site in Northamptonshire.
The position requires Teamwork in addition to supervisory experience and applications are open to Flexo Printers who have the relevant ‘hands on’ experience – please note the post holder must have at least 2 years’ experience of working either in an Ink manufacturing / supply environment – or with a Flexo Printed Packaging Company.
In addition to a CV, Printers are quested to provide information on their relevant experience in a cover note in support of their application, e.g., ability to update & maintain X-rite (iQC) with existing & new colour standards etc.
Capabilities, Skills & Experience required:
Must have good colour vision & an eye for detail
The post holder must have 2 years’ experience of working in an Ink or print based environment
Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of performing their daily duties without direct supervision
Must be able to work under pressure and demonstrate value activity to the customer
IT skills are essential as are good problem solving skills
Must be methodical and tidy in their work
Must hold a full driving license
Key Responsibilities.
Provide on-site support to customer through the following:
Dispense ink in line with the daily production plan(s)
The physical ability to move product to & from machine(s).
Book back press returns into the dispense management system
Place press returns in clearly marked locations
Re-work press returns where possible
Cluster press returns into common running colours
Place a weekly material order using the order form provided
File all delivery notes for month end consignment stock count
Book new deliveries into the dispense management system
Replenish material stocks on dispense management system
Arrange uplift of any empty containers or waste ink, ensuring containers are safely palletised and lids are secured.
Support ink blender and ink production through the following:
Observe all customer & Company H&S rules and polices
Ensure ink area complies with customers hygiene accreditation
Maintain dispensing equipment & working area with good housekeeping techniques
Provide on-site technical support to customer through the following:
Attending daily production & any ‘pre-flight’ meetings
Supporting press trials &/or customer trials
Provide customer with colour matchings, (hand drawn-downs & digital) within the agreed time frame
Update & maintain digital colour database & recipes within the dispense management system
Update & maintain X-rite (iQC) with existing & new colour standards.
Support on-site colour corrections & basic trouble shooting on press
Support on-site training to the Ink blender
Support ink management and ink production through the following:
Produce monthly KPI report based on customers consumption data
Maintain colour measurement equipment.
Capture any ‘NCR’ issues & action accordingly.
