We have an unmissable opportunity for an experienced Print Equipment Service professional to join one of the world’s most prestigious print equipment suppliers. This leading organisation manufactures digital, litho and ancillary printing equipment of superior quality and reliability.

The successful applicant will take full management responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the Service Operations and Technical teams; covering installations, reactive, pro-active and warranty work; achieving the appropriate balance between customer satisfaction and financial responsibility to achieve the departmental budget.

A Print / Technical / Engineering / Service Team Management background will truly cement your suitability for this position. This key management role will lead a team of office-based service operators and field-based technical professionals. It requires someone with strong people management skills who can lead from the front and positively influence a team. You will be expected to recruit, manage, develop and motivate this team according to company procedures, policy and employment law.

The success of the team’s output will depend on your ability to plan and manage activities to achieve effective and efficient customer service delivery, and to control costs in line with business goals. Our client is looking for a strong problem solver with a critical eye who is constantly looking for ways to improve departmental efficiencies through the development, implementation and monitoring of initiatives, systems and processes.

Not only will you be working closely with subordinates, you will be required to provide technical assistance and advice to the sales department. You will also liaise closely with other members of the European service management team, sharing technical resources and information to improve customer service across the organisation. It is therefore important that candidates applying for this role are cooperative team players, passionate about establishing, maintaining and developing effective working relationships with colleagues.

Strong numeracy skills are key, as you will be working with figures on a regular basis. The Service Manager’s job will be to prepare departmental budgets that support organisational objectives and goals, ensuring activities are consistent with the achievement of this budget. You will be expected to produce accurate monthly management reports covering areas such as financial performance against budget, installation status, departmental activity, customer service, technical issues and pro-active service prospects. Your role will also involve ensuring all chargeable work is invoiced accurately.

This is also very much a customer-oriented role. As Service Manager, you will manage key account initiatives, resolve customer queries, issues and complaints, including site visits where appropriate. We are looking for someone with an outstanding knowledge of printing equipment, to promote and sell pro-active service activities/projects/packages.
