We have an opportunity to join a group that is committed to its mission of becoming the leading provider of sustainable products. The company has developed a range of innovative, recyclable insulated packaging for the transportation of chilled items, supplying to the food, pharmaceutical and medical markets. They are looking for a Senior Sales Manager to become a key part in ambitious plans to become a dominant leader in the recyclable insulated packaging sector, eventually taking on the role of Sales Director.
This Senior Sales Manager role will assume full responsibility for managing and growing existing key accounts whilst maximising margins and will develop new business into new markets such as pet food, frozen food, pharmaceutical etc.
Role Objectives
- To undertake an in-depth familiarisation programme to include the Group, the company, its culture, products, manufacturing and operating processes and procedures.
- To identify and develop opportunities for the sale of insulated packaging with end user markets such as food, pharmaceutical and pet food, whilst identifying potential new markets.
- To work closely with existing accounts to maximise margin.
- To establish sound personal and professional working relationships, with the relevant personnel, from Director level to shop floor, within target and existing customers.
- To provide an effective and supportive link between customers and manufacturing to ensure customer expectations are exceeded, whilst business objectives are met.
- To demonstrate the personal and business acumen necessary to gain the confidence of customers and colleagues at all levels.
- To develop and demonstrate a sound technical appreciation of the product range, supporting customers technically when required.
- To actively participate in developing the sales budget, yearly budget plan and sales strategy for the stretch market, securing and controlling the realisation of strategic sales targets.
- To continually review and report back to the Sales Director and the business, by providing sales analysis, forecasts, pipeline management and visit reports. Updating the business system.
- To ensure the professional follow up of day to day business including providing accurate and timely quotations.
- To drive sustainability of the Division’s future product portfolio by anticipating market trends and requirements.
- To achieve specific business, sales and financial objectives, in accordance with an agreed target.
We are looking for someone with proven key account/sales/business development experience, gained within the packaging sector, and success selling into food, pharmaceutical, medical, or pet food markets. The Senior Sales Manager we seek will have a sound technical/engineering mindset, commercial and financial acumen, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to network and develop relationships at all levels. A team player, you will demonstrate a passion and enthusiasm for technical sales, with excellent negotiation skills and the commitment, motivation, and determination to succeed in a rapidly changing and growing business.
