One of our long standing clients is on the search for a highly motivated and professional Finishing Manager that possess a strong commercial awareness and a positive and practical approach to problem solving. This is a rare opportunity to join an innovative company which is at the forefront of technology, and is continuously adding new high-tech services to its offering.
The Role:
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, this is a key role within an expanding operation within the organisation. You will oversee all aspects of the production processes, ensuring all standards of quality, costs and production KPI’s are achieved.
Responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of the production process ensuring that this is carried out in a cost effective manner.
• Effectively allocate available resource to ensure maximum productivity is achieved.
• Plan production schedule in line with customer expectations.
• Monitor production schedules and adjust as needed.
• Communicate effectively to customers and suppliers (Internal &External).
• Ensure all stakeholders are compliant with company policies and general legal requirements. (H&S etc).
• Work with production team to ensure that all work is manufactured to the highest standards of quality achievable.
• Identify issues and seek solutions in a proactive and positive manner.
• Manage and motivate a small team of production staff.
• Set expectations and targets for production performance.
• Review production staff performance.
• Identify training needs of staff.
• Review and manage labour capacity against workload, to optimise labour utilisation and minimise overtime.
• Drive shopfloor efficiencies.
• Provide key production information that support the financial targets of the site.
• Ensure all commercial aspects of the business are maintained.
Candidates must have previous print/packaging finishing experience at a managerial level along with a good working knowledge of BRC High Hygiene requirements. Strong knowledge of folding carton manufacturing and associated processes would be highly beneficial.
This role requires an inspirational individual able to take the reins of their department; someone who can authentically lead and motivate staff. A background in working within a fast-paced printing/packaging environment will have allowed you to develop the skills and ability to work to short lead times whilst achieving the highest level of quality and on budget. Previous managerial experience will have also given you the capacity to develop a consciousness to continually improve productivity and efficiencies.
