This is an exciting opportunity to join a company that is home to some of the UK’s most loved confectionery and snack foods. The company is looking for a Packaging Process Development Manager to join their R&D department on a 12‑month contract.

Role Purpose

Lead and execute specific process development projects, implementing new products, manufacturing & technology change and CBR for the factory. Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives that deliver sustained improvements in process consistency, efficiency and consumer satisfaction. Lead the technical support function for the site to ensure rapid deployment of resources and expertise to keep manufacturing lines running to the required operational standards and correct quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effective and timely delivery of CBR, NPD, ensuring the client’s competitive position and maintaining the highest levels of quality and efficiency.
  • Support geographical expansion by leveraging skills, know‑how and products across the group to develop and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Assist in the transfer of production between factories and implementation of new production facilities to support capacity and flexibility requirements.
  • Integrate site‑based Technical and central Process Development teams, raising technical capabilities and supporting the move towards world‑class manufacturing standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience in all aspects of confectionery food and snack manufacturing, with sound technical know‑how.
  • Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma principles and project management.
  • Six Sigma/Lean Sigma accreditation at Green Belt level and a demonstrated record of successfully implementing continuous‑improvement and change projects in a food manufacturing environment.
