We have an opening with a long-established client for a print procurement professional. Due to continued market evolution, they are looking for a commercially astute buyer to manage supplier relationships and maximize profitability across their procurement channels.

This is a broad, fast-paced procurement role focusing on end-to-end supply chain management. You will be responsible for sourcing a wide variety of commercial print, finished products, and raw materials, ensuring the business consistently achieves the best possible commercial margins without compromising on quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Print Sourcing: Procure a diverse range of print services, finishing solutions, and outsourced marketing materials from an approved vendor list.
  • Spot-Market Sourcing: Manage the ad-hoc purchase of key manufacturing materials (specifically paper and substrates) on a case-by-case basis.
  • Margin Enhancement: Review baseline quotes and project rate cards, negotiating dynamically with trade suppliers and brokers to secure cost savings post-win.
  • Supplier Performance: Monitor vendor SLAs, evaluate supplier capabilities, and onboard new trade partners to maintain a highly competitive supply chain.
  • Compliance Management: Maintain company quality and environmental standards, including overseeing annual chain-of-custody compliance audits such as PEFC.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Solid background in print buying, print management, or manufacturing procurement.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a knack for negotiating spot prices on bulk materials.
  • Knowledge of paper types, weights, and substrate markets is highly advantageous.
  • Highly organized, with experience handling environmental compliance records (FSC/PEFC).

Please note, we are looking for a dedicated Print Buyer rather than someone in another job function that has print buying as part of a broader range.
