The Role
As a Flexographic Printer, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials to customer specifications. You’ll play a key role in ensuring efficiency, quality control, and minimal waste throughout the production process.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret works/job cards to understand production requirements
- Locate and prepare correct materials for each job
- Mount plates, sleeves, and cylinders accurately
- Mix inks to precise colour specifications using supplied equipment
- Thread web through the machine and set ink, varnish, and register correctly
- Set machine tensions and counters for final print meterage
- Establish and maintain colour standards for all new designs
- Complete all production paperwork accurately, including maintenance and production records
- Label and store printed reels correctly
- Carry out basic machine maintenance and complete associated documentation
- Report issues relating to plates, rollers, or sleeves to management promptly
- Minimise ink and material wastage wherever possible
- Ensure all tools are maintained, stored correctly, and accounted for
- Carry out risk assessments when required
- Maintain high housekeeping standards within the production area

- Previous experience operating Printing machinery
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good maths and administration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong understanding of health & safety procedures within manufacturing
