A leading print and communications company is looking for a Business Unit Director to lead the design, implementation and embedding of tools, mindset, culture and behaviours for operational success. The role is a senior member of the management team and will set strategy for growth, oversee key initiatives and achieve targeted outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Set strategy, growth, customer, people and financial targets in line with company objectives.
  • Deliver sustainable, profitable growth; handle statutory compliance and governance; lead team development.
  • Manage client relationships and attract new clients.
  • Implement and continuously develop client products to meet long‑term growth targets.
  • Build strategic customer relationships and ensure resources are prepared to manage growth.
  • Conduct divisional business reviews, audits and lead strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure mandatory processes, including line management audits, QHSE objective setting, H&S scenario training and statutory investigations, are compliant.
  • Serve as a visible leader, modelling company culture and behaviours.
  • Develop high‑level customer relationships and anticipate their needs.
  • Take proactive action to meet and improve revenue, operating profit, working capital and other financial targets.

Qualifications

  • Proven MD‑level experience managing a multi‑million‑£ business within the printing industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of overarching business strategy.
  • Exceptional customer relationship management experience, with ability to make persuasive presentations to clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong motivation, negotiation and influence skills with key employees, top management and clients.
  • Visionary leadership experience.
  • High personal credibility, networking and interpersonal skills.
