A small Bookkeeping and Accountancy practice based near Wrexham and Chester is seeking an experienced financial professional to join its team and to meet increasing client demand. This is a well-established firm with 2 offices close to Wrexham. This role will be based in the Mold office.
As an Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper, you will be working with an array of clients and supporting the Practice Partner. This will include helping and consulting clients in her absence, ensuring a smooth and continuous service is provided. This is a client-facing role, offering the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from sole traders to limited companies. The ideal candidate will be confident in preparing accounts, tax returns, and handling occasional bookkeeping tasks, while providing exceptional service to their clients. This position is perfect for a motivated individual who enjoys variety, is keen to take on more responsibility, and can work without supervision.
Responsibilities include:
- Portfolio Management: Oversee a varied portfolio of clients, acting as their primary point of contact for financial and accounting matters.
- Accounts Preparation: Prepare annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Tax Returns: Prepare and file personal and corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Bookkeeping: Conduct occasional bookkeeping tasks when required, ensuring accurate financial records.
- Client Interaction: Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering advice and support as needed.
- Software Use: Utilise accounting software such as Sage, Xero, FreeAgent, TaxCalc, MoneySoft, and Virtual Cabinet (training provided for unfamiliar systems).
The Accounts Assistant should be:
- Confident and competent to work independently, without close supervision.
- Strong communication skills with fluency in English.
- Previous experience within a professional services environment is preferred.
- Accountancy qualifications are highly desirable.
- Good knowledge of Accountancy Software packages (additional training will be provided).
- You must have full, indefinite right to work in the UK.
- You must live a commutable distance to Mold.
Salary & Benefits:
- £28,000 - £35,000 depending on experience.
