North American Account Handler – Direct & Facultative

The Opportunity
An established London Market insurance broker is looking to appoint an experienced
Account Handler to support a team handling North American Direct and Facultative business.
Working closely with Brokers and Producing Brokers, the successful candidate will provide comprehensive technical and administrative support throughout the placement lifecycle, ensuring risks are accurately prepared, documented and processed to a high standard.
This role would suit an experienced London Market professional who is technically strong, analytical and confident working in a fast-paced environment.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have
10+ years' insurance experience , with strong London Market knowledge.
- Experience supporting
North American Open Market Direct and/or Facultative business .
- Strong technical understanding of the broking and placement process.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly
Excel, Word and Outlook .
- Experience with
PPL and/or Whitespace .
- Experience with
Global XB and/or Power BI would be advantageous.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with confidence working with spreadsheets and large amounts of data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- The ability to build effective relationships with Brokers, clients, insurers and other stakeholders.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Some knowledge of policy wordings would be advantageous.
- A good understanding of both insurance and reinsurance business .
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive technical support to Brokers and Producing Brokers throughout the placement process.
- Liaise with clients, insurers and internal stakeholders to ensure an efficient and professional service.
- Assist with the preparation and placement of North American Direct and Facultative business.
- Prepare and review
Market Reform Contracts (MRCs), endorsements and other broking documentation .
- Review client information and documentation to ensure submissions are complete, accurate and presented effectively to insurers and reinsurers.
- Assist with the preparation of quotations, placement documentation and risk information.
- Ensure placements are accurately documented and relevant processes and checklists are completed.
- Prepare and issue evidence of cover and other client documentation following placement of risks and endorsements.
- Ensure risk files are complete, accurate and transferred to the relevant processing teams in a timely manner.
- Support Brokers with the management of endorsements and mid-term changes.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure systems are updated throughout the placement lifecycle.
- Use technology and market platforms effectively to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the broking process.
- Assist with data analysis and reporting where required.
