This is a senior underwriting role within a specialty insurance organisation, responsible for sourcing, assessing, and onboarding delegated underwriting authority programmes. The position is central to evaluating the commercial, technical, and operational viability of new programme opportunities and ensuring they are structured for sustainable profitability and effective capital deployment.
The role spans technical underwriting, programme due diligence, portfolio oversight, reinsurance collaboration, and operational delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders across underwriting, operations, finance, legal/compliance, and risk functions to implement efficient underwriting workflows within a modern, technology-enabled environment.

Qualifications:- Extensive multi-line underwriting experience across complex and niche risks
- Strong knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks, alongside experience with US surplus lines and delegated authority oversight
- A solid working understanding of reinsurance, including treaty and facultative structures, and experience contributing to reinsurance strategy
- A data-led, analytical approach to assessing profitability, return on equity, KPIs, and portfolio exposures
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally, improve underwriting processes, and operate effectively within technology-enabled platforms
- Strong relationship management skills when engaging with MGAs, brokers, reinsurers, and internal stakeholders
