A London based MGA business is seeking a qualified accountant to join them as a Senior Accountant.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Head of Finance, the successful applicant will focus on implementing and managing rigorous processes and approved internal controls to ensure the complete, accurate, and timely processing of financial transactions through the company systems in accordance with UK GAAP.
- Provide relevant and accurate financial reporting to the business and external parties in accordance with both US GAAP and local accounting policies.
- Manage premium/claims related entries and non-technical journals (accruals, prepayments, provisions, VAT and corporate tax, payroll, statutory adjustments, deferred income, stock, equity, etc.) and related reconciliations.
- Handle intercompany bookings, reconciliations and settlements.
- Oversee balance sheet validation/substantiation processes.
- Process and manage claims fee invoices payment requests via Xchanging/ECF.
- Complete financial reporting to regulators including FCA RMAR returns.
- Prepare management accounts, variance analysis, forecasts to year-end and KPIs using group templates.
Qualifications
- Applicants must be qualified accountants with relevant accounting experience and a detailed understanding of UK GAAP (IFRS and US GAAP experience advantageous) gained within an insurance business.
- Knowledge of the workings of Xchanging is required.
