Our client is looking for an Assistant Underwriter to join a specialist Nuclear Insurance team, supporting the underwriting of complex and highly technical risks within a unique and evolving market. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with existing UA/AU experience in a Nuclear Insurance environment who is looking to deepen their technical expertise and build a long-term career in this niche sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting senior underwriters in the assessment, underwriting and servicing of nuclear insurance risks.
  • Assisting with the preparation of underwriting information, risk presentations and policy documentation.
  • Analysing technical and financial data to support risk selection and pricing decisions.
  • Managing broker and client communications, ensuring high levels of service and responsiveness.
  • Maintaining accurate records, compliance documentation and underwriting files in line with regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as a Underwriting Assistant or Assistant Underwriter within a Nuclear Insurance team (this is essential).
  • A genuine interest and passion for the nuclear sector, including nuclear energy, infrastructure and associated risks.
  • Strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a specialist underwriting team.
  • Good communication skills and confidence dealing with brokers and internal stakeholders.
