Job Description Senior Underwriter | Property & Delegated Authority Contract: 12-month FTC, with potential to become permanent The successful candidate will play a prominent role in the management and profitable underwriting of a delegated portfolio, working closely with MGAs and coverholders while helping to deliver the wider underwriting strategy. This is a senior position offering significant responsibility across portfolio performance, underwriting strategy, CAT exposure and client relationships. Review and refine underwriting guidelines, pricing models and portfolio performance metrics. Manage CAT budget allocations and the prudent deployment of CAT aggregate. Analyse portfolio performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability and underwriting results. Attend client meetings and travel for marketing and business development purposes. Monitor the performance of delegated portfolios and ensure appropriate underwriting standards are maintained. Work cross-functionally with Claims, IT, Accounting and Operations to resolve technical and operational matters. Contribute to the development of innovative insurance solutions and products. Participate in relevant committees and contribute to portfolio reporting and performance analysis. We are particularly interested in speaking with experienced Property Underwriters and Senior Underwriters who have a strong background in: You will ideally have a strong technical Property underwriting background combined with the commercial awareness and relationship-management skills required to manage a significant delegated portfolio.
