A leading international insurance and reinsurance broker is seeking an experienced Senior Reinsurance Treaty Technician to join its specialist Technical Services division. This position focuses on the technical processing and administration of proportional treaty accounts, premium adjustments, and Excess of Loss (XOL) claims, supporting brokers and clients across a varied reinsurance portfolio. The successful candidate will join a highly regarded technical team responsible for delivering accurate and efficient post-bind processing services to both internal and external stakeholders across the London Market. This role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative and technically strong environment, supporting a broad range of treaty business lines while contributing to the continued delivery of high service standards.

Treaty Accounts Processing

  • Process proportional treaty accounts in accordance with slip terms, market requirements, and internal procedures.
  • Manage premium calculations, adjustments, and technical documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Prepare and process market documentation for submission to London Market bureaux systems.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is electronically filed and tracked appropriately.

XOL Claims Administration

  • Handle Excess of Loss (XOL) and proportional treaty claims processing activities.
  • Monitor claims transactions and support the accurate settlement of recoveries.
  • Liaise with brokers, underwriters, and market contacts regarding claims and technical queries.

Credit Control & Financial Monitoring

  • Assist with premium and claims collections activities.
  • Monitor outstanding balances and support credit control processes.
  • Escalate aged debt or unresolved issues where appropriate.

Broker & Operational Support

  • Provide technical support to broking teams across treaty business lines.
  • Assist with reporting, workflow monitoring, and management information requirements.
  • Contribute to maintaining service standards and operational efficiencies across the team.
  • Support wider team activities and assist with ad hoc technical duties where required.

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience within treaty technical processing gained from a broker, insurer, or bureau environment.
  • Strong understanding of proportional treaty accounts and reinsurance processing procedures.
  • Knowledge of reinsurance premiums, claims handling, and credit control processes.
  • Familiarity with Excess of Loss (XOL) and proportional treaty business.
  • Good understanding of Lloyd’s and London Market operations and procedures.
  • Exposure to London Market systems such as OpenTWINS or similar platforms preferred.
  • Cert CII qualification or equivalent industry experience advantageous.

  • Well organised with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient across Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
