An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast-growing, technology-enabled specialty insurance business as UK Director of Operations, leading critical operational functions within a highly innovative and data-driven insurance business. This is a key leadership role where you’ll sit at the centre of underwriting, operations and finance, ensuring the seamless delivery of operational processes while driving efficiency, scalability and strategic development.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you’ll take ownership of bordereaux operations, programme onboarding and operational performance, helping shape the infrastructure supporting a growing UK insurance platform.
The Opportunity
You will lead and enhance operational workflows across delegated authority business, ensuring data integrity, operational excellence and scalable processes. You’ll have responsibility for managing operational relationships across the business and driving continual improvement through automation, analytics and process optimisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading end-to-end bordereaux and delegated authority data operations
- Driving onboarding and implementation of new insurance programmes
- Managing operational hand-offs between Underwriting, Operations and Finance
- Leading reconciliation, reporting and operational performance analysis
- Developing operational frameworks, controls and best practices
- Driving process improvement and automation initiatives
- Managing and developing an operations team
- Overseeing premium collection and credit control activities
- Working with technology and vendor partners to enhance operational capability
About You
We are looking for an experienced insurance operations leader with deep understanding of delegated authority and MGA/MGU operating models. You will likely bring:
- Significant experience within commercial P&C insurance operations
- Strong delegated authority, bordereaux and insurance data expertise
- Experience working with MGAs, MGUs or carrier environments
- Strong project and programme delivery capability
- Excellent process improvement and operational optimisation skills
- Data and MI experience across tools such as Power BI, SQL and advanced Excel
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities
- 10+ years’ experience within insurance operational and/or finance environments
