My client, a well-established Lloyd's insurance broker, is seeking an experienced Marine Account Handler to join their specialist Marine division. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious insurance professional with London Market experience to work on complex, international Marine risks and develop their career within a respected Lloyd's environment.
As a Marine Account Handler, you will play a key role in supporting brokers and account executives with the day-to-day management of a diverse portfolio of marine clients. You'll handle all aspects of policy administration, documentation, and client servicing, ensuring placements and renewals are completed accurately and efficiently. You will liaise with underwriters, clients, and internal stakeholders across multiple territories, providing exceptional technical and administrative support on complex risks including hull, cargo, liabilities, and offshore energy.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day servicing of marine accounts, including policy administration, renewals, and mid-term adjustments.
- Prepare and issue market documentation including slips, endorsements, and wordings.
- Assist brokers in placing and negotiating terms with Lloyd's and company market underwriters.
- Ensure compliance with FCA regulations, Lloyd's requirements, and internal quality procedures.
- Maintain accurate client and policy records using internal systems.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, underwriters, and colleagues.
- Support the delivery of high-quality client service and identify opportunities for account growth.
- Previous experience in marine insurance (Hull, Cargo, P&I or Marine liability).
- Strong understanding of the Lloyd's and London Market and its placement processes.
- Experience using electronic trading platforms such as PPL or Whitespace.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong technical and organisational skills.
- Confident communicator with a professional approach to client service.
- Cert CII qualification (or progress toward it) preferred.
- A proactive, team-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
