We are partnering with a highly regarded specialty insurance intermediary seeking an experienced Financial Institutions/Commercial Financial Lines Placing Broker to join their growing team. This is a high-impact role focused on structuring and placing complex financial lines risks, with a particular emphasis on US-exposed business. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in carrier negotiations, programme design, and client strategy across a broad portfolio of financial institutions and commercial clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structure, market, and place Financial Institutions and Commercial Financial Lines risks into US and international markets
  • Lead negotiations with US carriers and wholesale markets
  • Design and implement tailored insurance programmes, including multi-layered placements
  • Advise producers and clients on coverage strategy, wording, and market appetite
  • Develop and maintain strong insurer relationships across US and London markets
  • Drive new business opportunities while supporting the retention and growth of existing accounts
  • Stay current on regulatory, coverage, and market developments impacting financial lines

  • Directors & Officers (D&O)
  • Professional Indemnity / E&O
  • Financial Institutions (Banks, Asset Managers, FinTech, Funds)

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience placing Financial Institutions or Commercial Financial Lines risks
  • Strong exposure to US territories and understanding of US market dynamics
  • Established relationships with US-based carriers and/or wholesale markets
  • Technically strong with complex programme structuring capability
  • Confident negotiator with strong market credibility
  • Commercially astute with the ability to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities
  • Experience within a wholesale broker, specialty broker, or Lloyd’s/London Market environment advantageous
