Ready to shape how a fast-growing, private equity-backed business makes commercial decisions? This is a pivotal role where you'll build the models, reporting and discipline that drive better pricing, better deals and stronger profitability.
As Commercial Finance Manager, you'll be the Group's lead on understanding where it makes money (and where it doesn't) - by product, customer and channel. You'll partner closely with Sales on pricing, partnerships and performance, while sitting within Finance to provide independent, evidence-based challenge.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and evolve pricing models across referencing, insurance and guarantor products; assess impact on volumes, conversion and retention.
- Design and run a deal pricing and approval framework (commission shares, rebates, volume discounts, minimum margin thresholds).
- Build and own profitability reporting by product, customer (agent group/branch), channel and brand, including cost allocation approaches.
- Analyse revenue drivers (attach rates, persistency, cancellations/lapses, payment mix) and identify improvement opportunities.
- Partner the Sales Director/team on targets, pipeline economics, tenders, renewals and post-deal reviews.
- Lead revenue and gross margin elements of budgeting and rolling forecasts, using driver-based assumptions and scenario models.
- Support FCA Consumer Duty fair value assessments and product reviews (with Compliance).
- Help define commercial data/MI requirements for the Group's new operating platform and improve data quality.
Must-Have
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA), or part-qualified at an advanced stage with equivalent commercial finance experience.
- 3+ years in commercial finance, FP&A or business partnering (ideally multi-product, high-volume B2B/B2B2C).
- Proven pricing analysis and customer/product profitability experience.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling, plus BI exposure (e.g., Power BI).
- Confident communicator who can challenge constructively and work pragmatically with imperfect data.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in insurance broking/MGA/financial services (commission income, cancellations/clawbacks, IPT, client money).
- FCA-regulated environment experience (including Consumer Duty fair value work).
