I'm currently exclusively working with an established, entrepreneurial and thriving MGA who is seeking a talented Underwriter to join a high-performing, supportive team. This is an unrivalled opportunity to join a highly regarded business, underwriting new business, renewals, and MTAs across Employers’ Liability, Public/Products Liability, and Contractors All Risks for small to mid-corporate risks. You will lead the offering and act as the face of the facility, giving you significant market exposure and strong scope for development. Strategic brokers are already aligned to feed business into the facility from day one, enabling the right individual to hit the ground running.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Underwrite profitably with confidence and independence (referring up when needed)
- Own strong relationships with a select broker panel
- Quote, adjust and renew to SLAs ensuring great service
- Handle daily broker calls/emails with technical authority
- Attend broker meetings and build your network
- Use MI to drive profitable decisions
Ideal profile:
- Solid contracting underwriting experience (EL/PL/CAR)
- Credible, relationship-focused and great on the phone
- Strong wordings knowledge and insurance principles
- Proactive, organised and keen to progress
