An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Aviation Underwriter with strong London Market and Lloyd’s broker relationships to join a leading and award‑winning firm experiencing continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite specialised aviation risks in line with the company’s underwriting guidelines, risk appetite, and profitability targets.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to grow and enhance the portfolio, with a focus on sustainable underwriting performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with London Market and Lloyd’s brokers, as well as internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior colleagues, acting as a referral point and contributing to professional development within the team.
  • Represent the company at key industry events and within market forums to raise brand profile and identify new business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in underwriting aviation risks within the London Market and/or Lloyd’s environment.
  • Strong broker network and solid reputation in the aviation underwriting space.
  • Deep understanding of global aviation trends, market dynamics, and risk exposures.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead by example and support the development of junior talent.
  • ACII qualification (or progress towards) is desirable.
