, Head of Private Client. This is an excellent opportunity for someone ambitious, client‑focused, and keen to develop within a growing team and office environment.

The Opportunity

You will manage your own matters while also supporting senior fee earners, trainees, and administrative colleagues.

This role offers genuine scope for progression, hands‑on development, and the chance to help shape and grow our Private Client offering in Stoke.

You will work closely with Jennifer, gaining exposure to high‑quality work, strong client relationships, and a collaborative team culture.

  • Typical Responsibilities
  • Managing your own matters across the full range of Private Client work.
  • Delivering excellent client service in line with HD’s strategic aims and values.
  • Acting as an expert in your field and handling non‑routine cases with confidence.
  • Delegating effectively to ensure client expectations are met and service standards maintained.
  • Supporting colleagues across the team and wider organisation.
  • Providing approachable advice to team members and clients.
  • Recognising and utilising different skill sets within the team to deliver a rounded, cost‑effective service.
  • Developing client relationships and referring work internally across service lines.
  • Liaising with other teams to ensure a comprehensive client service.
  • Contributing commercially to help the team meet financial targets.

Skills & Experience

  • NQ – 3 years PQE with demonstrable interest in Private Client work.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to manage your own caseload with appropriate supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good organisation and planning with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Self‑motivated with a desire to learn and progress.
  • Strong IT skills, including the full O365 suite.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team using your own initiative.
  • Experience with High Net Worth matters is advantageous.

Desirable

  • Experience within a full‑service law firm.
  • Experience with SOS case management
  • Involvement in business development and marketing activity.
