The six‑year apprenticeship programme steadily builds toward qualification as a solicitor. Apprentices begin with the Level 3 Paralegal and then progress to the Level 7 Solicitor apprenticeship, mirroring the traditional route and is tailored for college leavers. Apprentices will work within a supportive environment, gaining hands‑on experience and working alongside experienced staff. The Role
- Provide general and confidential support to the department and handle general legal enquiries.
- Deal with first‑line enquiries made in person, by phone, and by email.
- Assist with the organisation and coordination of formal court documentation and bundles for court hearings.
- Draft simple legal documents using standard templates under legal guidance.
- Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the Legal case management system and file keeping.
- Collate and provide information and statistical data as required.
- Conduct legal research.
- Greet visitors and clients and provide refreshments for client meetings.
- Book meeting rooms.
Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of working hours will be spent training or studying. Upon completion, apprentices will achieve an LLB (Hons) in Law and Legal Practice and sit the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) as part of the End Point Assessment, offering a viable alternative route to qualification.
