The Commercial Property Team are looking to recruit a 2-year+ qualified solicitor / Associate Solicitor with a real passion for commercial property to join the team in our Preston office. Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and an ability to deliver an outstanding client service as this role involves regular contact with clients and agents. The successful candidate will provide clients and agents with regular updates, advice and draft documentation. The role involves operating a Case Management System and so good IT skills are essential. We are looking for a candidate with keen attention to detail and who is confident working within a challenging commercial environment.

The team currently advises investors, lenders, commercial and residential developers and high profile entrepreneurs and estate owners across a range of sectors with the common theme that we provide extremely proactive and highly commercial advice. The role involves an exciting variety of work including landlord and tenant, residential and commercial development and high level transactional work for high profile regional and national clients and an opportunity to contribute to the growth of the firm.

The Role

  • Handling a busy case load.
  • Liaising with supervisors to manage workload.
  • Provision of excellent client service.
  • To develop relationships with clients.
  • To provide support to other team members as required.
  • Effective liaison with other service line teams.
  • Understanding and contributing to the team's objectives.
  • Negotiating and drafting transactional paperwork, production of advice and guidance to clients.
  • Working to promote the firm’s values.

Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years PQE within a commercial property department advising and representing clients on a range of real estate matters.
  • Ability to manage own caseload with some supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good organisation and planning skills with the ability to prioritise work to meet strict timescales where required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Excellent client facing skills.
  • Accomplished in business development activities, with the ability to build a network of contacts for themselves and the team.
  • Strong self-motivated worker.
  • Team player and willingness to work well in a team.
