We are now looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team in Preston.
About the Role
This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth running of the firm by supporting a wide range of financial processes linked to both client work and internal operations. You’ll be joining a collaborative, friendly team where accuracy, communication, and a proactive approach are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring incoming monies, updating internal spreadsheets, and notifying fee earners to ensure timely allocation to client files
- Administration and reconciliation of petty cash
- Processing client and office accounting transactions from the posting queue
- Acting as second authoriser for bank payments
- Preparing manual cheques
- Managing batch imports for client disbursements and postings
- Monitoring the accounts inbox and resolving queries as they arise
Essential Experience
- Hands‑on experience of financial processes
- Confident use of Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel
Desirable Experience
- Experience working within the legal sector
Qualifications & Technical Skills
- Experience using fully integrated financial systems
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
