Our Insolvency & Restructuring team is now seeking a Paralegal to join our Manchester office. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone keen to learn, highly organised, and motivated to build a career in a busy commercial environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the team, providing accurate and timely assistance, and undertaking routine and transactional fee‑earning activities. You’ll help ensure compliance standards are met, deliver excellent client service, and contribute to the team’s success.
Importantly, this role is offered with a genuine view to progression — it can be a stepping stone towards applying for a training contract at Harrison Drury.
Key Responsibilities- Manage administration on the SOS case management system, including matter opening, closing, and updates.
- Prepare court hearing and mediation bundles.
- Draft correspondence and court documents.
- Undertake legal research and prepare updates/blog articles for the website.
- Attend court, mediations, and meetings, producing detailed notes and minutes.
- Ensure file compliance with regulatory standards and office processes.
- Handle billing processes and liaise with Finance.
- Manage telephone calls and client communications.
- Organise multi‑party meetings, including travel arrangements and documentation.
- Contribute to operational reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong academic background.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commercial awareness and strong attention to detail.
- Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Self‑motivated with a genuine desire to learn and progress.
- Strong IT skills.
- Confident working both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience as a Paralegal or Administrator in a legal team.
- Exposure to insolvency, corporate transactions, litigation, or debt recovery.
- Familiarity with preparing hearing bundles.
- Experience using SOS case management (or similar systems).
