An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Restructuring and Insolvency Lawyer to join our team in either Cambridge or Norwich to help continue the growth of the team. Our 28-strong restructuring and insolvency team is led by eight market-leading partners. The team acts for insolvency practitioners, lenders, companies, directors, and creditors undertaking a mixture of restructuring, non-contentious and contentious assignments, with the focus being on businesses surviving and maximizing realisations for creditors.

Responsibilities

  • Advise as part of the team on issues across Restructuring and Insolvency, including corporate and personal insolvency law and restructuring assignments.
  • Promote and drive high standards of service and accuracy across the department or team.
  • Take responsibility and accountability for ensuring that the Firm's and Regulator's standards are consistently met.
  • Maintain the respect of clients and colleagues by being fair and consistent and acting as a role model for others.
  • Directly bill and/or control billing in line with agreed targets.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Firm at all levels within the Firm and externally.
  • Sustain long-term, commercially valuable relationships.
  • Use technical expertise and knowledge to actively promote the Firm (e.g. public speaking, publishing articles).
  • Be recognised as a trusted advisor both internally and externally.
  • Able to overcome technical difficulties and problem solve effectively and creatively where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and successfully manage client relationships.
  • Exhibit excellent technical ability and drafting skills.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrate strong commercial acumen; be proactive, ambitious and organised with a keen eye for detail.
  • Work across the Cambridge and Norwich offices, with some travel between offices required.

Qualifications and experience

  • 2+ PQE in Restructuring and Insolvency or related experience; we are keen to speak to candidates considering a new challenge.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and successfully manage client relationships.
  • Strong technical ability and drafting skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate teamwork and relationship-building skills.
  • Flexible and client-focused with a proactive approach.

Location and travel

Based in Cambridge or Norwich with travel between offices as needed.
