We are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Immigration Solicitor to join us at Partner level, to lead the next phase of growth for our large immigration practice. Part of our nationally recognised Employment, Immigration and HR team, this is an exciting opportunity for an established lawyer to shape, expand and build upon our successful immigration offering. Our immigration experts provide support for both business and personal immigration matters for senior executives and high-net worth private clients. Our immigration team is one of the largest outside of London and is known for providing pragmatic, commercial advice to clients across a range of sectors. Our clients rely on us to help them navigate complex immigration requirements, from sponsor licence applications and compliance through to strategic workforce planning and global mobility solutions. This role offers the platform, investment, and cross-referral opportunities to build a substantial practice within a collaborative and entrepreneurial firm.

As a senior leader within the team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the continued growth of our immigration offering. Working alongside partners across the firm, you will identify opportunities, strengthen existing client relationships, and develop new sources of work. We are particularly interested in speaking with individuals who bring strong market connections, a proven track record of business and a genuine appetite for growing. You can be based in either our Cambridge or Thames Valley office, but you will be expected to travel to our other offices on occasion.

You will:

  • Be a part of leading and shaping our national immigration practice.
  • Advise employers, education clients and other organisations on complex immigration and compliance.
  • Support clients with sponsor licences, workforce planning, global mobility issues, compliance audits, and Home Office investigations.
  • Develop new business opportunities and enhance existing client relationships.
  • Build your profile in the market through networking, speaking engagements and thought leadership.
  • Mentor and develop lawyers within the wider team.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the practice and wider firm.

About you

You will be an established Immigration Partner, Legal Director or Senior Immigration Lawyer with:

  • Significant experience advising businesses on complex UK immigration matters. You’ll have at least 7 years PQE.
  • A strong reputation within the market and an established network of contacts or a credible business case for developing one.
  • A track record of winning, retaining and growing client relationships.
  • Have a proven track-record of supporting clients in the tech and manufacturing industries.
  • Excellent technical expertise and commercial awareness.
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to mentoring and developing others.

With strong referral streams across the firm, an established client base and ambitious growth plans, this is an opportunity to join a highly collaborative partnership and build something significant. For the right individual, this role is an opportunity to join a successful practice and be instrumental in shaping its future growth.
