An opportunity has arisen for an experienced trust tax and accounts administrator to support our Inheritance Tax, Trusts, and Estates Team.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Preparing trust, estate, and possibly some personal tax returns
- Preparing trust and estate accounts
- Calculating tax liabilities
- Corresponding with colleagues, clients, and third parties, to obtain information and notify of liabilities
- Assisting with trust registrations and ongoing compliance requirements
- Providing support with tax planning work, including note taking at meetings
- Coordinating HMRC correspondence and queries
- Managing deadlines, filings, and compliance calendars
- Supporting the onboarding of new clients, including AML checks
Essential skills and experience:
- Proven experience in preparing trust and estate tax returns (and ideally accounts), either with HMRC or in a tax advisory or accountancy/legal practice environment
- Strong understanding of UK tax compliance around trusts
- Good working knowledge of Iris tax software would be an advantage
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Qualified / Part Qualified TE
