Rialtas, part of the global Harris Computer family, is the market leader in accounting and administrative software for local councils across England and Wales. With more than 1,000 customers, we empower local authorities with innovative software solutions that simplify financial management and administration.
We’re looking for a commercially astute, results-driven Sales Manager to lead our Sales Department and drive both new business acquisition and installed-base growth. In this key leadership role, you will directly manage the New Business Lead, the Customer Success Manager (CSM), and the Existing Inbound Sales Lead. Reporting to the EVP, you will take ownership of delivering revenue targets, shaping and executing our sales strategy, and driving strong performance through effective KPI management.
Combining strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, you’ll foster a high-performing sales culture while embracing a modern, AI-augmented sales approach. AI tooling will be a core part of how your team prospects, sells, and forecasts, helping to maximise efficiency and commercial success. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact, elevate our sales function, and contribute to the continued success of a growing software organisation.
Our offices are located in Uffcott, Wroughton near Swindon, easily accessible from Junctions 15 and 16 on the M4. This is a hybrid role, with on-site presence to be agreed. Occasional travel to client sites and UK-wide conferences will be required.
Your key responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):
- Leadership & team management: Lead and develop the NN Lead and Customer Success Manager, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture. Use AI-generated performance insights — conversation intelligence, deal scoring — to inform coaching conversations and team development plans. Apply a strong understanding of both upsell/cross-sell and new business sales cycles and methodologies, ensuring alignment on sales targets, customer experience, and operational delivery. Ensure customer excellence is provided throughout the company. Collaborate with the Professional Services (PS) Lead so customers are efficiently scheduled into programmes, courses are effectively marketed, and capacity is optimised. Coach, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve individual and departmental goals.
- Sales growth & strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy focused on driving new business acquisition and B2B revenue growth. Use AI-powered prospecting and market intelligence tools to identify new opportunities, enrich lead data, and prioritise high-potential accounts. Identify and pursue new market opportunities and strategic partnerships. Collaborate cross-functionally to align campaigns and service delivery with sales objectives.
- Performance & KPI management: Define and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) across sales, ensuring consistent performance tracking and data-driven decision-making. Oversee AI-assisted pipeline analytics and campaign performance dashboards, interpreting insights and translating them into actionable strategies. Review and validate AI-generated performance reports and forecasts, adding strategic context and recommendations for presentation to the EVP.
- Customer experience & collaboration: Work closely with the CSM and PS Lead to maintain strong customer engagement, satisfaction, and retention, as measured by revenue and NPS scoring. Leverage AI-powered sentiment analysis and NPS tools to identify at-risk accounts and emerging customer themes, informing proactive engagement strategies. Ensure customer feedback informs both sales and marketing strategies. Promote a unified approach across departments to deliver a seamless customer journey from initial contact through to service delivery.
- Reporting & forecasting: Oversee AI-generated sales forecasts and commercial analyses, validating outputs and applying strategic judgement before presentation. Present findings, trends, and recommendations to the EVP and senior leadership team.
- Marketing oversight: Oversee the planning and execution of marketing campaigns, ensuring alignment with sales objectives and brand positioning. Deliver impactful content, digital campaigns, events, and customer communications. Monitor and evaluate lead-generation performance, ensuring maximum ROI on spend and activity — using AI-assisted analytics to sharpen targeting and attribution. Ensure all marketing materials and communications effectively promote products, courses, and services.
