Role Description
The Internal Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Greater London.
This role involves managing day-to-day accounting operations, including bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
The Internal Accountant will prepare monthly management accounts, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and support year-end reporting and audit processes.
The role includes monitoring financial performance, identifying variances, and providing insight to support decision-making and profitability improvements.
The Internal Accountant will collaborate with internal stakeholders, ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations, and contribute to process improvements within the finance function.
Qualifications
- Strong financial accounting skills, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and preparation of management accounts.
- Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support performance monitoring and business planning.
- Experience with accounting software and spreadsheets (e. g., advanced Excel skills and commonly used accounting systems).
- Knowledge of UK accounting standards, tax principles, and regulatory compliance relevant to an internal finance function.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy in numerical work, and strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently on-site in Greater London, take initiative, and contribute to process and control improvements.
- Professional accounting qualification (e. g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or progression toward qualification, and prior experience in an internal accounting or practice-based role.
