MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Consider the curriculum and promote pupil development in any class or group.
  • Plan and prepare courses and lessons.
  • Teach according to the educational needs of pupils.
  • Set and mark work undertaken by pupils.
  • Assess, record, and report on pupil development, progress and attainment.
  • Disseminate high quality teaching pedagogy and practice for outstanding learning outcomes.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the academy.
  • Maintain a dynamic and inspiring learning environment.
  • Be innovative, highly motivated and eager.
  • Display good interpersonal skills and work well as part of a team.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • QTS (or equivalent) and an undergraduate degree.
  • Successful experience of teaching the primary curriculum.
  • Good understanding of current theory and best practice in teaching and learning, particularly for high progress rates of primary students.
  • Strong knowledge of core National Curriculum subjects.
  • Knowledge of child development and progression planning.
  • Effective classroom behaviour management strategies in line with school policy.
  • Understanding of equal opportunity issues and how to address them.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
