ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
Harris Primary Academy Coleraine Park is looking for a Vice Principal to monitor children's learning, close achievement gaps, and raise standards for all pupils above national expectations. You will ensure high-quality provision, contribute to school policies and procedures, and lead on teaching and learning across the academy.
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Strategic Direction and Development: Lead the vision, ethos, and policies of the academy; manage the creation and implementation of the Improvement Plan; establish policies for achieving the academy's aims; ensure effective use of pupil data; enhance standards of teaching and learning; lead curriculum development; develop relationships with parents and the community; engage in appointing new staff.
- Teaching and Learning: Undertake teaching commitments; liaise with teachers to personalise programmes; act as a role model; monitor and report on teaching and learning; ensure a rich curriculum; lead pupil progress systems and reviews.
- Recording and Assessment: Monitor assessment procedures; evaluate teaching, planning, feedback, attendance, progress, and attainment; ensure appropriate attainment for individual pupils and groups.
- Leadership: Support the academy's aims and ethos; oversee professional development; manage budgets; line manage staff; monitor progress and results; ensure effective recruitment and deployment of staff.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Graduate with a good degree plus formal Teaching Qualification or relevant professional studies.
- Evidence of continuous self-development in teaching and learning and education management.
- Proven track record in producing high-quality achievements for all children.
- Experience of delivering high-quality INSET to teaching staff.
- Ability to provide professional leadership and management of a staff team.
- Experience in assessment, pupil tracking, and effective data analysis.
- Recent experience in innovative curriculum development.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and the National Curriculum.
- Evidence of successful working relationships with parents, Governors, and the community.
- Experience of using coaching for ongoing professional development.
