We are a 3 form entry primary school from Reception to Year 6, which also includes a 52 place Nursery. Harris Primary Academy Chafford Hundred (HPACH) is a successful academy that was judged outstanding in every category in our March 2025 Ofsted inspection.

Summary

We are looking for an Early Years Educator to work to support the learning of children in the early years classes at Harris Primary Academy Chafford Hundred, including undertaking occasional class cover as directed. The actual salary for this role will be £25,465.22 (38 weeks per year, 37.5 hours per week).

Main Areas of Responsibility

  • Supporting children’s development in all aspects of the EYFS curriculum in Nursery and Reception
  • Developing effective practice and ensuring high quality provision for all children
  • Monitoring and record children’s progress and using information as a basis for planning and improving practice and provision
  • Working in partnership with parents, valuing and utilising their contribution to support children’s wellbeing, learning and development
  • Developing and improving the quality and effectiveness of the EYFS by working collaboratively with the EYFS Teachers and Phase Leader
  • Being a key person to a group of children and support transitions between Nursery and Reception and other settings
  • Developing an inclusive provision and practice to meet the needs of all children and their families
  • Providing and contributing to oral and written assessments, reports and references

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age, supporting learning
  • Experience of establishing good relationships with parents and families encouraging involvement in education
  • Good numeracy/literacy skills
  • The ability to organise yourself
  • The ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding academy roles and responsibilities and your own position within these
  • The ability to undertake administrative tasks such as registers
  • The ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities
  • The ability to relate well to children and adults including managing difficult or conflicting situations
  • Energy and enthusiasm to improve the learning of all students
