We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established business in Horsham that's looking for an experienced Stores Supervisor to take ownership of its day-to-day stores operation.
This is a hands-on role where you'll lead a small team, work closely with customers and colleagues, and help keep the wider business running efficiently.
- What You'll Be Doing
- As Stores Supervisor, you'll be responsible for a varied workload including:
- Leading, supporting and organising the day-to-day activities of the stores team.
- Speaking with customers, taking orders and providing updates on stock availability.
- Ordering spare parts and ensuring stock levels are maintained.
- Booking in deliveries and managing goods coming in and out of the stores.
- Carrying out regular stock checks and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Using the company's stock management system to process stock movements and adjustments.
- Coordinating supplier deliveries and resolving any issues quickly and professionally.
- Working closely with internal departments to make sure materials are available when needed.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, organisation and health & safety.
- Looking for ways to improve processes and help the stores run more efficiently.
What We're Looking For
You'll ideally have experience in a similar stores, warehouse or stock control role and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
We're looking for someone who has
- Previous experience supervising or leading a small team.
- Good knowledge of stock control and inventory management.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Confidence using stock management or ERP systems.
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- A practical, hands-on attitude with a willingness to get involved.
- A strong understanding of health and safety within a warehouse or stores environment.
Experience within manufacturing, engineering or technical distribution would be an advantage, but isn't essential.
